Our Mission
To provide emergency response to open water-related incidents in the City of Virginia Beach including drownings, boats in distress, medical emergencies, boating accidents, and vehicle accidents involving water, and to provide specialized water response support during natural disasters.
Our Team
Staffed year-round by volunteers from around Hampton Roads, the Volunteer EMS Marine Rescue Team operates as a Virginia Beach EMS Special Operations force. Our highly trained members are given the best training at no cost to them, thanks to generous supporters like you. Plus, our headquarters is a registered American Red Cross and Emergency Response Diving International training facility.
From crewmember, to rescue boat coxswain, to Rescue Swimmer, our volunteer member roles offer critical support when you need help on the water.
