Marine Rescue Team does not require members to have an EMT certification or to be affiliated with another rescue squad. We’ll provide the training for you!
Eligibility
- At least 18 years of
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- No felony or other major criminal convictions
- Satisfactory driving record
Requirements
- Successfully complete requirements in the Virginia Beach EMS application
- Successfully complete basic swim assessment- swim 300 yards in 12 minutes or less and tread water for 10 minutes
- Show proof of completion of an approved Boater Education Safety Course prior to release as a regular member
